CDPM2020-NL; The Netherlands Sustainable Development Program Manager

JOB TYPE  Volunteer – Long Term


Role

The WSF Netherlands Country Development Program Manager plays a critical role in creating and developing global sustainable development programs for Netherlands and the Netherlands Antilles.


  • Develop country specific sustainability development programs based on United Nations Sustainability Development Agenda.
  • Work on high impact sustainable country projects based on UN SDG goals / UNFCCC.
  • Develop program and project plans from initiation to realization.
  • Write deep impact high value project proposals.
  • Connect and engage with key stakeholders - govt, UN, NGOs and establish partnerships and alliances.
  • Building strategic partnerships
  • Plan and Monitor overall country program and projects pipeline 
  • Write, edit, and distribute content, including publications, annual reports, speeches, and other material that communicates the organization's activities and services.

 

Key Qualifications & Competencies & Experience

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Academic studies in social development, developmental economics, international development, public policy preferred.
  • 8-10 years of preferred work experience on sustainability related projects / social sector
  • Deep understanding of sustainability and climate change issues pertaining to any country.
  • Good understanding of social, political and economical environment of Netherlands.




MGT2020-3; WSF Global Outreach Lead

JOB TYPE  Volunteer – Long Term


Role

  • Working closely with the management team to develop and implement an effective outreach communications strategy based on our target audience. e.g. stake holders and management board
  • Write, edit, and distribute content, including publications, annual reports, speeches, and   other material that communicates the organization's activities and services.
  • Act as a spokesperson for the organization.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and maintain a viable   information flow.
  • Seek opportunities to enhance the reputation of the organisation. planning publicity strategies and campaigns

Role

  • Engage in deep research on country specific sustainability development issues. 
  • Create insights and understanding of country specific developmental issues. 
  • Analyze and formulate actionable sustainable development ideas and proposals.


Key Qualifications & Competencies & Experience

  • Strong written & verbal communication
  • Advanced academic degree in social development, developmental economics, international   development, public policy or related field
  • Experience in previous research work in development sector an advantage
  • Deep knowledge of sustainability and climate change issues
  • Strong analytical, reporting and writing abilities

Role

The Country Development Program Manager plays a critical role in creating and developing

  • Ability to execute on and achieve milestones on WSF 60-day country development program
  • Work on high impact sustainable country projects based on UN SDG goals / UNFCCC. 
  • Develop program and project plans from initiation to realization. 
  • Write deep impact high value project proposals. 
  • Develop alliances and partnerships at country level
  • Connect and engage with key stakeholders - govt, UN, NGOs and establish partnerships and alliances
  • Building strategic partnerships
  • Plan and Monitor overall country program and projects pipeline


Key Qualifications & Competencies & Experience

  • Strong written & verbal communication skills 
  • Relevant academic studies and degree in social development, developmental economics, international development, public policy or related field
  • Deep understanding of sustainability and climate change issues pertaining to any country, should have lived or worked in that particular country for a significant amount of time
  • 8-10 years of preferred work experience on sustainability related projects / social sector

MGT2020-1; Legal Counsel/ Regulatory Officer

JOB TYPE  Volunteer – Long Term


Role

The Legal Adviser serves as a member of WSF management team to provide guidance   on legal and regulatory matters, actively participate in  management decision making, and provide support   to management and staff on all relevant issues. The position will also   assist the Global Internal Compliance team on human capital, contract   management.

  • Supports the Project Management Office (PMO), with all legal areas including data protection and privacy law, intellectual property, (international) employment law, contract law, international human rights law, and international environmental law, and risk management
  • Drafts & Negotiates, monitors processes, contract documents 
  • Engagement: Scope of support with different departments in the organizations
  • Supports the management team with legal matters
  • Supports the Human Resources with the volunteer employment law
  • Advises on the terms in the contract documents

 

Key   Qualifications & Competencies & Experience

  • Degree in law with minimum 5 years’ experience   working in similar govt, private or NGOs.
  • Excellent Communication skills both oral &   written in English.
  • A strong affinity with sustainability development   goals. 
  • Working knowledge/exposure to Environmental   laws. 
  • Relevant experience/ knowledge of data protection   and privacy laws.




MGT2020-2; Chief Financial Officer/ Treasurer

JOB TYPE  Volunteer – Long Term


Role

  • Oversees long   term financial management of the organization
  • Ensures implementation   of appropriate accounting procedures, controls, and risk management   procedures based on ABNI NGO regulations and accounting standards
  • Ensures that   financial resources are spent and invested in compliance with legal and   regulatory requirements and with good corporate governance
  • Monitors finances and reports to the Board at regular intervals ensuring the   organization’s compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including   governing documents, with good corporate governance. 
  • Guides, oversees and advises the Board on the approval of budgets, accounts and   published financial statements
  • Keeps the Board informed about its financial duties and responsibilities 
  • Advises the Board and the senior management on the financial implications of any   strategic plans
  • Assures the Board that the financial resources meet its present and future needs

 

Key Qualifications & Competencies & Experience

  • A recognized financial and/or accounting qualification
  • Experience, knowledge & skill of financial management, book keeping, accounting,   auditing
  • Experience and knowledge of current practice relevant to NGOs
  • Experience in a financial role of a commercial or voluntary organisation
  • The skills to analyse proposals, examine their financial consequences and make concise   recommendations
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly
  • Commitment to the organisation
  • Willingness to devote the necessary time and effort
  • Strategic vision, good, independent judgement
  • Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team
